Radeon's Adrenalin package is more than a driver. It bundles a control panel with performance tuning, recording tools, upscaling options and monitoring in one app. That convenience is a big reason many Radeon owners enjoy the software.
Updating can bring game optimisations, new features and bug fixes, so it is worth looking at the release notes before you click install. Not every update changes things you care about, and skipping a release is perfectly fine.
If you want to compare versions, sites such as TechSpot and TechPowerUp keep a running list. For the installer itself, I would always use AMD's official download page.
