Sony PlayStation 2 now price $99.99

Sony PlayStation 2 is a phenomenal in video gaming industries.Recently Sony Corp said they will cut the price of its older video game console, the PlayStation 2, by 23 percent to $99.99, in an attempt to woo budget-minded families. The price was obviously a good bargain and wise decision during this economy struggle.

The price cut, effective April 1, could sustain the life of the PS2, which has sold more than 136 million units since its debut in 2000, making it the world's popular gaming system, Sony said on Tuesday.

The news follows -- and momentarily puts to rest -- rumors on video gaming websites and blogs that Sony might cut the price of the PlayStation 3, its more powerful console. The PS3's least expensive model sells for about $400.

Sony said that the sub-$100 price will draw in a new wave of customers ranging from lower-income families to gamers who may have passed on pricier new systems. In addition, it may give incentive to retailers to keep PS2 on store shelves.via Nytimes

How to Save a Wet Cell Phone

Ever face this kind of problem?Wet cell phone which drop inside a toilet bowl. That was something awful thing to happen right? So how to Save a Wet Cell Phone?
cellphone-in-a-toilet

The problem: You drop your phone in the toilet.

The fix: Remove the battery to prevent power from going through the circuit board, as this can result in a short circuit. Prepare a bowl of dried rice, place both components in the rice and leave them for 24 to 48 hours to dry. The rice will act as a desiccant, pulling the moisture out of the cell phone. Don't shake the phone around, though, as you don't want to spread water to previously dry places.

Install Windows XP on Pavilion dv5000 and sata driver

This solution posted by: Siva BGD on HP SUpport forum

First, let me explain about this. While install XP proff, it won't detect the harddrive or it will ask to install the SATA driver.

For this issue, we have to alternate solutions. Both will work. You can use any one of them.

One is to disable the SATA support in BIOS. Here are the steps to disable then steps:

1. Turn on or restart the notebook.

2. Press the F10 key when the "HP Invent" logo appears on the screen. This will open the BIOS menu.

3. Select the "System Configuration" tab.

4. Select "Disable" for the "SATA Native Support" item.

5. Press F10 to Save and Exit. Choose Yes for "Save configuration changes and exit now".

Now it will allow you to install the XP OS without any issue. But you should enable SATA support in BIOS after completing the installation. You have to use XP without SATA support.

If you want to install the SATA driver, then you need one external floppy driver and then follow the below steps:

You can install SATA drivers on a Retail OS by following these steps:

1) Enter F10 Setup, and go to System Configuration/Device Configurations/SATA Native Mode
to Disable.

2) Install Windows XP Service Pack 2 in whatever manner is typical for your organization.

3) Download the Intel SATA AHCI Controller Driver, SoftPaq SP32478.exe, from www.hp.com.

4) Extract all the files from the SoftPaq. A USB floppy is necessary for this step. Run sp32478; this will create a floppy disk. The files will be located on this floppy.

5) These files should be located on the floppy disk.

a. iaahci.cat

b. iaahci.inf

c. iastor.cat

d. iastor.inf

e. iastor.sys

f. license.txt

g. readme.txt

h. txtsetup.oem

Note : You can use the steps 4 & 5 on a Desktop system having floppy drive and then transfer those files to a CD-R.

6) Download and run the Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH7, SoftPaq SP32781, from www.hp.com .

7) In Device Manager, right-click the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers/Intel ® 82801 GBM/GHM (ICH7-M Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller and select 'Update Driver'.

8) Follow these steps to complete the Hardware Update Wizard:

a. At the first dialog, select 'No, not this time' when prompted to connect to Windows Update.

b. At the next dialog, select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).

c. At the next dialog, select 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install'.

d. When prompted to select the device driver you want to install for this hardware, choose the first one in the list: Intel® 82801GBM/GHM (ICH-7M Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller - 27C4.

e. When prompted to insert the manufacturer's installation disk, browse to c:\SWSetup\SATA AHCI Drivers\, and click OK.

f. When prompted to select the device driver you want to install for this hardware, select the Intel® 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller

g. A warning that Windows cannot verify that the device is compatible with your hardware will appear. When asked if you want to continue installing the driver, select Yes.

h. The installation will complete.

9) Shut down Windows and restart the computer. Enter F10 setup when prompted during the boot.

10) Go to System Configuration/Device Configurations/SATA Native Mode and change it to Enable, then save settings and exit F10 Setup.

11) After Windows restarts, the additional SATA components will be updated. A System Settings Change will appear. When asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?" click Yes.

12) When Windows restarts, the SATA AHCI drivers will be completely installed.

That is the entire history and solution for this issue.

How to Clean a Keyboard Spill

The problem: You get a little too animated playing 'World of Warcraft' and spill something on your keyboard.

The fix: First, lightly shake the keyboard to remove excess liquid. Then, leave it upside down overnight, or preferably, for 24 hours, to drain and dry. These two steps should solve a water spill, but, if the substance is sticky, like soda, then use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the letter keys. Next, using cotton swabs moistened with water, clean the sticky spots. If all else fails, try putting it in the dishwasher. This will void all warranties, so, again, try it only as a last resort before you go out and spend your hard-earned money on another one.

How to Repair Office 2007 Problems

Once again, Raymond give some advice to me, which i think it was really great way to get over problems we had while using Microsoft Office 2007.Some people even have problems just to adept on using it to do work at office. Since new Microsoft office 2007 had more tools and features,it is great to install one in our PC.However, whenever problem occurs, you must run a full diagnostics first before repair or installing a new Office.

There are three ways to run Microsoft Office Diagnostics.
1. If you have no problems in launching any Office components such as Word or Excel, you can click on the Microsoft Office button located at the top left and click Word Options. Then go Resources and click the Diagnose button.

2. If you can’t run any Office components. Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools and run Microsoft Office Diagnostics shortcut.

3. Finally if the Diagnose shortcut is missing from Start Menu and you can’t run any office components, then go to the following location C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\ and run offdiag.exe

The diagnostic will take about 15 minutes or more to complete, and once it finishes, hellnoire is able to use the uninstall and change button again in Programs and Features. If you ever encounter any problems or errors in Microsoft Office 2007, you should always try this diagnostic tool first.

New iPhone features coming in June

new-iphone-featuresTHE Apple iPhone is actually a little computer that happens to be a great phone.

And as with all computers, it has an operating system (OS). The OS in question is called iPhone OS.

Apple recently announced a major update to the iPhone OS.

With iPhone OS 3.0, over 100 new features will be making their way onto the iPhone in June this year, including copy-and-paste capability, MMS or multimedia messaging, a new Voice Memo app and expanded Search capability.

Owners of iPhone 3G will be getting the upgrade for free, Apple said.

The much in demand cut, copy and paste can be done within or across applications. MMS enhances otherwise normal SMSes with photos, contacts, audio files and locations.

Voice Memo arms the iPhone with the ability to capture and send audio recordings on the go. And Search capabilities in iPhone OS 3.0 will allow users to search within Mail, iPod and Notes or search across all key apps by typing a key word or phrase into the new Spotlight search which is accessible from the Home screen.

Another strength of the iPhone platform is the availability of tiny, third-party software that users can add to their phones, called apps.

To date, there are over 25,000 apps available at Apple’s App Store in categories ranging from productivity and lifestyle to entertainment and games.

For iPhone OS 3.0, developers are already working on new apps that will take advantage of the features in the new OS.

Among these features are In-App Purchases, Peer-to-Peer connection and interface with accessories.

With In-App Purchases, newspapers and magazine publishers, for example, will be able to sell premium subscription via their iPhone app.

Peer-to-Peer connectivity will be great for gaming, whereby iPhone users will be able to discover and engage each other in multiplayer games using a seamless Bluetooth connectivity that does not require pairing.

And the thousands of third-party iPod and iPhone accessory makers can now build apps that talk right to the accessories, such as an equaliser app that adjusts the settings of speakers.

Apple’s App Store is available to customers in 77 countries worldwide including Malaysia, allowing the company to reach 30 million iPhone and iPod Touch users.

Put hyperlinks over your YouTube video with Asterpix

How to put a clickable link in a video? That question always been asked over the internet many times. There were so many ways you can put your hyperlinks.Well, i found one which i think useful to try.It was called Asterpix.

Asterpix is a free video service that allows you to take your regular run of the mill YouTube video and add notes and hyperlinks to it that are then clickable by your viewers. Adding links to video is as easy as clicking on your video where you want to add a note or link and then typing it in. Once you've added a link a box will show up in the video to let your viewers know the link is there and viewers can mouse over the box to get more information or click on your link. Your finished video is then hosted on Asterpix's website and can be embedded on your own person blog or website.

Asterpix also recently launched the Facebook app Hypervideo which does roughly the same thing and also allows your friends to comment directly on your profile embedded video.

The service has a lot of potential for monetizing online video, and making it easier for viewers who want more information to get it. You could user Asterpix for giving more information about a person your interviewing in a video, or even where you purchased the shirt you're wearing in your podcast.

One definite drawback to the service right now is that those little squares. While they're trying to be unobtrusive they're still pretty obtrusive and can be pretty annoying to watch. It would be great to see Asterpix work the hyperlinks like subtitles where viewers would have the option to turn them on if they wanted extra information, and off if they wanted to enjoy a video square free.

There's also no real way to control how long a square stays on your video. The links seem to be depended on the movement of what you put them on, so some squares will stay up for seconds and others minutes. For instance in the Squadcast video the link on Christina goes away pretty quickly but the one on Grant holds on for dear life until the credits start. Some of the links on the video later on barely stay up long enough for you to see them.

It'll be interesting to see how Asterpix changes over time, and what types of things people start to use Asterpix for.

Update: The folks over at Asterpix pointed out that they do offer an invisible mode for the squares or "Beacons." if you want to watch an Asterpix video "beacon free" you can change the beacon style to "No Marker" under the style menu. there are also some other style options on the menu where you can change the traditional rectangle to a "Fading Rectangle," "Flashing Circles," or "Closed Caption." When we tried the closed caption option we saw the contents of the links as closed captions, but the beacons were also there...so it looks like there's some kinks in the process still be ironed out.

Cool758 razor phone shaver

Razor RAZR V3 might be a little hard to grasp at, but with innovative features like shaving people's faces, we could really see this Cool758 "raengadget_cn_icebin_01-cool758zor phone" breaking into the double digits. Just pop the cap off the bottom and you've got a fully functional shaving implement, perfect for rubbing across your chin repeatedly in a vain hope that it'll knock off a few bristles before that very important meeting you're late and ill-prepared for. If shaving isn't your thing, there's always its dual-sim capability, a touchscreen, and a 2 megapixel camera to fall back on. No word on price or availability.

Free Tools to Optimize and Compress PNG Images Without Loosing Quality

Blogging without graphics or images will makes our blog looks dull. Some people thinks that having a graphics or images will consume more webhost bandwith and space, which is not good if you have a limited space and bandwith.I only familiar with jpg,JPEG ,png, tiff, gif and bitmap. Not really experts on images or editing tools. However, i read about it from Raymond blog and i think it is good to share it here.Same as Raymond i also like PNG file instead of Jpeg because it is smaller and also still come with good quality. Free Tools which can Optimize and Compress PNG Images Without Loosing Quality might come handy. It helps and it works.

Here are the free tool PNG compressors:

1.OptiPNG

2. pngcrush

3. AdvanceCOMP

4.PNGOUT

I'm not going to point out which one of these free tools the best. They have Pro's and Con's, also depends on your usage needs. However,I would use PNGOUT which  took longer time to compress image file, take about 141 seconds to compress a 170050 bytes PNG image file to 152409 bytes .Even it need time longer to compress compare to 3 other free tools, but it can compress about  -10.37% from it's original size. That's a good thing.Anyway, feel free to use 4 of these free tools to Optimize and Compress PNG Images as you desire. You choose your best tools.Enjoy!

How to tell, what to do if computer is infected

Previously malware or viruses usually breaks computers performance and also eaten some of the computer sources which makes the computer gone crazy. However, during these days they learn it right. You don't have any problems, but yet you are infected with viruses and malware without even knowing it!Dang!I think it is far dangerous when we don't know we infected. If we don't know we will not be aware out of it.Perhaps even worse we revealed our secret passwords and secret login to certain valuable authorities. How was that? How to tell, what to do if computer is infected?

So,now let me show you,how it works now:

- Computer-virus infections don't cause your machine to crash anymore.

Nowadays, the criminals behind the infections usually want your computer operating in top form so you don't know something's wrong. That way, they can log your keystrokes and steal any passwords or credit-card numbers you enter at Web sites, or they can link your infected computer with others to send out spam.

Here are some signs your computer is infected, tapped to serve as part of "botnet" armies run by criminals:

• You experience new, prolonged slowdowns. This can be a sign that a malicious program is running in the background.

• You continually get pop-up ads that you can't make go away. This is a sure sign you have "adware," and possibly more, on your machine.

• You're being directed to sites you didn't intend to visit, or your search results are coming back funky. This is another sign that hackers have gotten to your machine.

So what do you do?

• Having anti-virus software here is hugely helpful. For one, it can identify known malicious programs and disable them. If the virus that has infected your machine isn't detected, many anti-virus vendors offer a service in which they can remotely take over your computer and delete the malware for a fee.

• Some anti-virus vendors also offer free, online virus-scanning services.

• You may have to reinstall your operating system if your computer is still experiencing problems. It's a good idea even if you believe you've cleaned up the mess because malware can still be hidden on your machine. You will need to back up your files before you do this.

How do I know what information has been taken?

• It's very hard to tell what's been taken. Not every infection steals your data. Some just serve unwanted ads. Others poison your search result or steer you to Web sites you don't want to see. Others log your every keystroke. The anti-virus vendors have extensive databases about what the known infections do and don't do. Comparing the results from your virus scans to those entries will give you a good idea about what criminals may have snatched up.

So, one most important thing to remember was, always updates your system security and use the latest anti viruses available online. You might never know how those rascals fraud works out there.Using your ID and secret info they can do almost everything.Do take care!

Latest Dell Adamo 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo,cost you a $1,999

dell-adamo-core-2-duo
I always love Dell.In fact i'm using a Dell quite for some time. But recently i just bought an Acer notebook instead of Dell notebook. Why?The answer is easy, here at my place in Malaysia Acer is much more cheaper than Dell. After months of drawn-out buildup, the Adamo endgame has played out pretty damn fast: we had pricing and box pictures leak just about an hour ago, and now Dell's officially announced the first machine in the Adamo line, the 13.4-inch model we saw at CES.

Sadly, it sounds like beauty is only aluminum-skin deep here: that hot little case holds a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U9300 with integrated Intel X4500 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD, and it all weighs four pounds -- a pound more than the MacBook Air. Not exactly a barnstormer, especially for $1,999 -- it looks like you're spending the majority of that cash on high-end design flourishes like a magnetic cover that hides the Microsoft-required Windows authenticity sticker. Hopefully this thing will be joined by some higher-powered siblings when it arrives on March 26th, keep your fingers crossed.

Source:Gakwer-or check out their hands-on here, and a pic of that magnetic cover here.

My birthday already passed few days then.Anyone want to present me with this cool Latest Dell Adamo?hehe.Well it does costly when converts into Ringgit Malaysia. This cool Dell notebook price RM 7296.35 which is half than my currently used notebbook.

Time Warner wants AOL to be like Google

Media giant Time Warner (TWX, news, msgs) plucked a top executive from Google (GOOG, news, msgs) to run its struggling AOL business.

Tim Armstrong, who has been a senior vice president at Google, will replace Randy Falco, who had been AOL's chairman and CEO for the past two years. Armstrong's mission: turn the dial-up-and-content company into an online advertising business.

Armstrong was picked because he helped Google become the dominant player in online advertising,

Top Stocks blog: Free long-distance? Oh yeah, Google's going there

Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes said in a statement.

Time Warner shares fell 0.1% to $8.31 after hours from a regular close of $8.32. Google was off slightly after hours to $323 after rising to $323.53 during regular trading.

From Gawker:

But what is Armstrong going to do? He'd never have left his cozy perch at Google to oversee AOL's further decline. Let's assume that's not in the cards.

The best indicator of Armstrong's preferred strategy is not the one he pursued at Google. Based primarily in New York, Armstrong oversaw an agenda set by the geeks in Mountain View. To keep him on board, Google's top managers allowed Armstrong use his Google-IPO wealth to make several startup investments on the side, even when they posed a conflict of interest.

One company, Associated Content, run by Armstrong's college roommate Luke Beatty, lets amateur publishers post content on the Web and get paid a share of the advertising revenues. Another, Patch, is building local news sites with real journalists behind them, in competition with the New York Times.

It's not clear if Time Warner, which is stricter about this kind of thing, will let Armstrong stay involved with his side gigs. But what they spell out is a guy who's itching to be a media kingpin, not the boss of an army of programmers.

What that likely means: The future of AOL will rest in its blog-heavy MediaGlow division, while Armstrong works his Madison Avenue connections to rebuild AOL's slouching ad sales. If he makes it work, it will be a triumph over his old bosses at Google — the ones who believe in the alchemy of algorithms over the hard work of creating content that attracts an audience.

About Tim Armstrong

Tim Armstrong was a member of Google's Operating Committee and served as the president of the Americas Operations. Under the Americas Operations, Armstrong's team managed publishers and advertisers' relationships and platforms with some of the world's most widely recognized media and agency brands. Armstrong started at Google in the year 2000 and opened the first office outside of the Mountain View, CA headquarters.

Mr. Armstrong joined Google from Snowball.com, where he was vice president of sales and strategic partnerships. Prior to his role at Snowball.com, he served as director of integrated sales & marketing at Starwave's and Disney's ABC/ESPN Internet Ventures, working across the companies' Internet, TV, radio, and print properties. He started his career by co-founding and running a newspaper based in Boston, MA, before joining IDG to launch their first consumer Internet magazine, I-Way.

Mr. Armstrong sits on the boards of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), the Advertising Council, and the Advertising Research Foundation, and is a trustee at Connecticut College and Lawrence Academy. He is a member of Mayor Bloomberg's MediaNYC 2020 committee. He is a graduate of Connecticut College, with a double major in economics and sociology.

Panasonic 2009 VIERA HDTVs official pricing revealed

panasonic-2009-viera-hdtvsPanasonic Corporation of North America (NYSE: PC) , the industry leader in high definition Plasma and LCD televisions, recently introduced its expanded line of VIERA HDTVs at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show. Building upon its award winning portfolio of high definition televisions, Panasonic will broaden its offering in 2009 by introducing new screen sizes in Plasma with a new 54-inch class plasma. In addition, VIERA will extend its unique technology features, such as the acclaimed VIERA CAST(TM) web menu, to additional model lines.

VIERA CAST, originally launched in 2008, will broaden its entertainment offering with the addition of Amazon's VOD streaming video service. Panasonic also extended the prestigious THX(R) Certified Display to three product lines. With a continuing emphasis on improving the television's performance and reducing the impact on the planet's carbon footprint, Panasonic's 2009 line of VIERA HDTVs have improved their energy efficiency vs. last year's models, while also improving the overall picture performance of the HDTVs.

Year after year, Panasonic has been dedicated to bringing new picture improving technologies to HDTVs and 2009's line-up continues that trend. With the digital transition on the horizon and an increased awareness among consumers of high definition, consumers now demand blacker blacks, faster response times and the billions of colors that Panasonic VIERA HDTVs deliver.

In 2008, Panasonic offered one VIERA HDTV series that had innovative internet enabled VIERA CAST feature. In 2009, it will be extended to three series -- The Z1 series, the V10 series and the G10 series. In addition to the continuation of such favorite entertainment sites as Google's YouTube(TM), Picasa(TM) Web Album, Bloomberg and weather service; a consumer will now have access to HD movie rentals via Amazon Video-on-Demand. Panasonic has also improved VIERA CAST interface by implementing quick keyword input (like a cell phone) to help retrieve favorite content faster and easier. Panasonic HDTVs VIERA Link -- a technology that utilizes HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) and allows a consumer to operate all VIERA Link(TM) compatible A/V components using only the TV's remote control and helpful on-screen menus. In addition to operating a VIERA HDTV, video source (Blu-ray and DVD player) and home theater receiver; VIERA Link permits operation of a network camera, ideal for monitoring of a home/nursery*. A VIERA Link capable Network Camera BL-C210A can be connected to a VIERA HDTV and controlled via VIERA Link remote. Users can then watch their child, pet and/or property by installing the camera and networking to the VIERA HDTV via Ethernet cable. The BL-C210A will be available in the United States in the summer of 2009.

As in 2008, all Panasonic VIERA HDTVs feature VIERA Image Viewer(TM) a function for easy viewing of digital still photos and in some models, the ability to play back AVCHD video recorded on SD card.

For 2009, VIERA Plasma HDTVs are rated, as in 2008, to have a lifespan of 100,000 hours. This is more than 30 years of viewing when watched for 8 hours a day, before the TV reaches half brightness. To further improve picture quality, VIERA HDTVs feature some breakthrough innovations like 600Hz Sub-field Drive and Infinite Black panel with improved contrast ratios. In 2008, Panasonic offered VIERA HDTV models that were THX certified and in 2009, the prestigious certification will be extended to 8 VIERA models (The V10 series and the G10 series). THX Ltd. works closely with Panasonic from initial product design phase to the final product rollout in the market. THX certification ensures that each display can present all HD and standard definition content to the maximum resolution with accurate color and luminance levels.

Panasonic's commitment to improving the environment was confirmed this year as all of its 2009 VIERA HDTVs qualified for Energy Star certification. As in the past, VIERA Plasma HDTVs are lead and mercury free.

"Panasonic's superior quality, connectivity and service continues to distinguish the VIERA line," said Bob Perry, Executive Vice President, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "Not only have our VIERA HDTVs received critical acclaim from consumer and trade publications, but Panasonic has maintained the market lead for the majority of the last three years. Panasonic has never rested on its laurels and the 2009 VIERA line continues that thinking. This year Panasonic has created the 'Neo-PDP' line with a brighter panel, double luminance efficiency, deeper blacks with improved contrast ratio and 1080 TV lines of Moving Picture Resolution. Our corporate philosophy of Ideas for Life is borne out by our attention to the consumer -- to provide the ultimate entertainment experience in an easy to use format. That is why we have expanded our VIERA CAST feature and continued to improve the functionality of VIERA Link."

Fidelity Electronics VPC netbook

We're not quite sure we understand the process behind making a Very Personal Computer, but clearly, Fidelity Electronics has it nailed down solid. In what's apt to be the silliest, albeit most awesome netbook model name in the history of netbook model names, said company has just introduced its very own VPC. This incredibly intimate piece of machinery uses all 1.5 pounds of shell, every single megahertz and every last WiFi wave in order to completely invade your privacy, and we're even told that the 800 x 480 resolution display can wink and cast glances as it attempts to woo you. The VPC sports a 7-inch panel, 2GB of internal storage, a 3-hour battery, "100MHz internet browser" (stop laughing, we're being serious here), an Ethernet jack, SD card slot and a cherry gumdrop for a CPU. We're expecting this one to hit stores next month for $199.99, but don't be shocked if it just shows up in your bed, bathroom or favorite breakfast cereal.2-27-09-fidelity-electronic
