A clean installation removes old files and settings before the new driver goes in. It can solve crashes, flickering and odd behaviour that appears after repeated updates.
The easiest approach is AMD's own installer. Download the latest driver from AMD's official site, run the installer and look for the Factory Reset option on the first screen, which performs a clean install. Your screen may go black for a moment, and settings in the Adrenalin software will be reset.
For a deeper cleanup, use Display Driver Uninstaller in Windows Safe Mode to remove old driver files, then restart and install the fresh driver. Download the new driver before you start, because your internet may still work but the display could be limited. Create a restore point first, and note any custom settings you want to restore. After finishing, restart your PC and check Device Manager to confirm everything is working. Then launch a game you know well and watch for stability.
