Sometimes a newer driver causes crashes, stutters or display problems. Fortunately, Windows 11 lets you return to the previous version in a few clicks, as long as the old driver is still stored on your system.
Right-click the Start button and open Device Manager. Expand Display adapters, right-click your NVIDIA graphics card and choose Properties. Open the Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver. Windows asks why you are rolling back; choose any reason, confirm, and restart your PC.
If the Roll Back Driver button is greyed out, Windows has no earlier version stored. In that case, download an older driver from NVIDIA's official archive of previous drivers, uninstall the current one, and install the older file. Use a clean installation to avoid leftover files. Before rolling back, note whether the problem is really the driver, since faulty cables, overheating or game files can cause similar symptoms. After rolling back, consider pausing driver updates until a newer version is confirmed stable.
