Chipset Driver Troubleshooting for Ryzen PCs

If your Ryzen PC feels sluggish or the power plan behaves oddly, confirm the chipset driver is installed and that the Windows power plan matches what AMD recommends. Check your BIOS version, too, since BIOS and chipset updates often work together.

USB devices disappearing or storage speeds acting strangely are also reasons to reinstall the chipset package. Restart after installing.

Before a BIOS update, read the instructions carefully and never power off during the process. A stable chipset driver and current BIOS are the base of a reliable Ryzen build.
