Good Television Ad Campaigns Of The 21st Century

While Internet marketing has certainly taken up a big piece of business advertising, television campaigns have continued to be a big part of the marketing mix. Over the years there have been ads that didn't do well and ads that generated large amounts of profit. I wrote this article to tell you about three extremely successful Tv ad campaigns that were run within the last decade.

One of the most easily recognizable campaigns is the PC versus the Mac. 66 commercials were run under this particular campaign. Apple found them to be pivotal in their attempt to be viewed as something newer and hipper than their competition. Complete Get a Mac Campaign can be seen at the useamac.com blog. If you don't remember them yet, you'll be sure to recognize them as soon as you see them.

The reason why this campaign did so well is that it humanized the technologies while highlighting the differences between each of them. It appealed to both tech lovers and the technologically challenged because it broke everything down into simple terms while highlighting the real benefits of using a Mac. After watching these tv ads, you instantly knew the reasons why you should reasons to switch to Mac .

E-trade also had a spectacular series of television ads over the past few years. Not only is the talking baby hilarious, it also gives the viewer the impression that trading with them is so easy that a baby can do it. The wonderful thing about this is that they never have to actually come out and say that it is easy, it is just a conclusion that the viewer naturally comes to. It has been said that conclusions that a person comes to on his own will remain in their head longer than ones they are told. Due to this, many companies try to steer their potential customers into coming to positive conclusions about their products.

Geico tv commercials did the exact opposite of this. They made a commercial that came out and just said what they were thinking. “So easy a caveman can do it”, has been said so many times that people can't help but instantly associate the statement with the Geico commercials. These commercials were simple, funny, and extremely effective. Within the last couple of years Geico has gained lots of new customers and they attribute their great advertisements as one of the primary reasons for this.

As you might have noticed, all commercials do not hit the same hot points, but they are all created for the same reason. Advertisers spend large amounts of money coming up with the perfect thirty second clips that make people want to buy. If you're planning on creating your own television advertisements for your product, you might want to study the emotional chords that these ads try to hit rather than what they are actually doing in the ads.

Its easy to make people laugh, but its a bit harder to make them buy. Laughter is free, but to make a purchase you have to get your wallet out and part with your hard earned cash. A person isn't going to buy your product just because you made them giggle for a few seconds.
